Welcome
LONTAC27:
Sex, Riot, and Integration
A London Transactional Analysis Conference on
Sex, Sexuality, Desire, Kink, Consent, and Clinical Practice
The LONTAC team is excited to launch the second London Transactional Analysis Conference, taking place on 30th January 2027 in the heart of London.
LONTAC27: Sex, Riot, and Integration invites the Transactional Analysis community, and the wider fields of psychotherapy, counselling, education, organisational work, supervision, and training, into a bold and necessary conversation about sex, sexuality, desire, kink, gender, consent, pleasure, shame, identity, and relational life.
This is not a conference about sex as scandal, symptom, risk, or clinical complication alone. It is a conference about sex as a living, embodied, psychological, cultural, political, and relational reality.
Sex is not outside the room. It enters psychotherapy, counselling, supervision, training, education, organisational systems, and professional life through shame, silence, fantasy, trauma, desire, pleasure, inhibition, dissociation, secrecy, consent, power, longing, identity, and the body’s memory of what has been forbidden, feared, or left unnamed.
If Transactional Analysis is a theory of human relating, then sex cannot remain peripheral to its theory, practice, ethics, and community life.
This year's theme:
"Sex, Riot, and Integration"
Imagine a body.
Not as an object to be judged, corrected, disciplined, or hidden, but as a living archive.
A body of memory.
A body of longing.
A body of shame, pleasure, fear, consent, refusal, and desire.
In psychotherapy, to speak of sex is to approach one of the most charged thresholds of human life: the place where body and psyche meet, where fantasy and ethics touch, where power, tenderness, trauma, play, intimacy, and belonging are carried in the flesh.
Sex is never only sex.
It is script and silence, contract and transgression, touch remembered, touch forbidden, touch imagined, and touch refused. It is shaped by culture, family, religion, law, shame, gender, pleasure, and power. At times, it also opens onto something more mysterious: aliveness, surrender, communion, creation, ecstasy, or sacredness.
The riot in this year’s theme is not violence. It is refusal: refusal of silence, shame, sanitised theory, and the quiet exile of sex from professional conversations.
Integration is the deeper task that follows: to make room for what has been split off, to think where there has been avoidance, and to bring sexuality, kink, consent, ethics, pleasure, trauma, gender, body, and soul into fuller Transactional Analysis conversation.
Speak the body, disturb the silence, integrate the whole.

About us
We are Sam Carbon (PTSTA, UKCP) and Giovanni Felice Pace (PTSTA, UKCP, HCPC), two psychotherapists journeying toward becoming TSTA.
In honouring our own histories and identities, we believe we can hold space for the rich, diverse stories of others to unfold and heal.
Rooted in a deep faith in the power of community, we believe Transactional Analysis is called to be more than a method—it is a living compass, guiding practitioners home to themselves, their cultural roots, and into deeper connection with those they walk beside.
